What to bring into the wild?

Capturing quality images of animals will take a lot of time because the right moment can sometimes take hours and into the night. Safety measures will also have to be considered, depending on the subject animal. What do experts usually prepare when going to the Amazon or Arctic?

I believe most of them probably take a guide who knows the people, animals, and terrain. That makes sense to me. If I was shooting in the Arctic, I'd look for cameras that can withstand the frigid temps.

I would day the guide is probably the most important thing to take. Without a guide, you'd be lost and in danger. I would think that different places require different things.

I always take paper maps, because you never know when you'll lose a signal and will have to rely on a real map to find your way. I also take extra batteries.
