G1 worth double the price?

I've been looking for a new cam, but I don't have any hands-on experience with either of them. Is the G1 model really worth double the price of the A1?

I don't think so. They're really just about the same camera. So, I guess it just depends on how much you're willing to pay for a built-in broadcast jack (what Canon calls a "jack pack").

I think the G1 is worth the extra price. It's all about what you're looking for and what you're willing to pay to get it. The cam has been out for years now. You should be able to find one that's been refurbished if you're looking to snag a deal.

Yeah, that's a good point, Rachel. I'll look into that and see what's out there. I definitely don't mind owning something that's been used before.

The only time a product is worth double the price is if the new amenities that warrant the price hike can net you twice as much money.

I don't think this camera can do that.
